Behind the artist’s name is the French multi-instrumentalist Pascal Arbez. Arbez mixes electro, techno and house with elements of classical music, rock, Italo disco and 70s electronically for a sound that drives the minds of the countrymen Daft Punk and Air. However, Vitalic has its very own angular and playful feel on the music.
As a child, Arbez was playing bassoon, but was fascinated by dance music when he first became acquainted with Daft Punk in the mid 90’s. Inspired by just Daft Punk and names like Giorgio Morode, Arbez began working with synthesizers while writing and producing music under the alias Dima.
In 2000, after four years of collaboration with Citizen Records, Arbez changed the alias Dima with the name Vitalic. Since then Vitalic has released a good handful of epics as well as four full-length albums, of which the latest album Voyager was released in 2017. An album that draws on the classic sound known from Cerrone and Giorgio Moroder.
